Arrive by 8:00 pm to help
with cleanup after dinner. This will give you time to meet some of the guests. Upon
arrival sign in and put on a name tag with your first name ONLY plainly written. Read
"Providing and Maintaining Healthy Boundaries" before beginning work shift.
If you want to come earlier and join the group for dinner,
that is fine. Just make sure the kitchen is all cleaned up before they have lights out at
9:00 P.M. (There is a crew for clean-up; you dont have to do it all.)
Feel free to join in wherever you can be helpful. Check in
with the Night Coordinator for Winter Nights. The Night Coordinator will need to know
where you are in case they need help from you in the middle of the night. You may need to
assist the Night Coordinator in locking up for the night. It is that professionals
job to stay up all night and monitor the Vista, your job will be to be on-call if they
need help. The Overnight Volunteers sleep in the Conference Room(s) downstairs. A blow-up
mattress and sleeping bags and pillows will be available for the evening. You may be more
comfortable sleeping in sweats. Bring whatever you need to be comfortable staying
overnight.
In the morning, you will get up at 5:30 and set out a
simple continental breakfast that was left in the kitchen the night before. Please join
the families for breakfast and then put everything away after breakfast. The guests leave
the Vista at 6:30 AM and you may leave anytime after if the kitchen is cleaned up. There
should be another breakfast volunteer to help you. You need to make sure that the needs of
the guests are met for breakfast and departure and that the kitchen is clean before you
leave.
Remember, we are here to serve. Be respectful of our guests
at all times.
Thank you for your loving contribution to the welfare of
these families!!!
