WHAT:
St. John Vianney Church hosts dinners for the
families in the Mountain View House Family Shelter
one week of each year.
Approximately 20 volunteers are needed daily to cook
meal items or serve the dinners at the Shelter
during Meals Week
Cash donations also allow us to provide supplies for
our week of meals and other much-needed supplies to
the shelter.
WHEN:
April 18th - 22nd, 2011
Meals Week Volunteer Sign-Ups will be held at SJV
church after all the masses on April 9/10. If you
can’t sign up after mass, contact Linda Locke at
lockes4@hotmail.com or 935-8035.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Cooks sign up to prepare a specific menu item in the
amount needed for a specific dinner night. (For
example: chicken enchiladas for 15 on Wednesday, a
veggie tray for 15 on Tuesday or 2 dozen cookies for
Friday)
The prepared items are to be brought on the
designated day from 4- 4:30 pm at the SJV Rectory
parking lot. They will be collected and brought to
the Shelter by volunteer servers.
Approximately 5 people serve the dinner at the
Shelter at 6 pm.
The servers clean up and are back at SJV around 7:30
pm.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TO DO?
An information sheet will be available at Sign-Ups
and given to all volunteers with directions for
their service.
There will be one family coordinating the dinner for
each night. Their contact information is:
